Anzac Day commemorations will be 100 per cent bigger than last year, despite the popular march unable to go ahead. Honorary secretary of the Inverell RSL sub-branch Rick Ellis said everyone was very much looking forward to the two services going ahead. Even after marching every single year except the last, Mr Ellis said the day would be just as special without it. “At the end of the day it’s about that connection,” he said. The dawn service and the 11am service will be going ahead, and while numbers have been capped inside a fenced perimeter with a QR sign-in required, people could still come along – as long as they adhered to the COVID-19 social distancing.
