Hay Inc Rural Education Program receives NSW Government funding | The Land

THE next generation of Riverina farmers are set to benefit from a new training program funded by the state government.

The NSW Stronger Country Communities Fund will see $187,121 handed to the Hay Inc Rural Education Program, assisting with training for everything from from sheep skills to engine maintenance.

Minister for Regional Youth Bronnie Taylor said the program would be a leg-up for young farmers seeking work in the industry.

“As well as teaching them transferable skills, the program also gives young people the opportunity to gain industry experience locally, learn the appropriate skills and be ready for the job through on-farm placements,” she said.
